We are a small group (max 6) who are trying to improve our Italian vocabulary and pronunciation, mainly through reading and translating short stories and other non-fiction texts. We are currently using the "Easy Italian Reader" by Riccarda Saggese (which is not always as easy as the title implies!) and an audiomagazine called "Acquerelle" along with accompanying CDs. We previously read and enjoyed "Short Stories in Italian" volume 1 by Olly Richards and are looking to try volume 2. Members provide their own books while the group leader scans the audiomagaxzine etc for the rest of the group.

Our current members include an Italian speaker who helps us with our vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar. We also talk about our experiences of holidaying in Italy, Italian history, food & wine etc (among other things!) and take turns to produce/give a short talk to the others in Italian on any subject we fancy.

We currently have a vacancy for one new member, they will need at least a basic knowledge of Italian (asking for things, getting directions, eating out, using public transport, booking accommodation etc) and Italian grammar.

Please note that our group is not suitable for absolute beginners.
