If you are interested in and have a passion for Art and would like to deepen your knowledge and understanding of Art through the ages up to the present, this is the group for you.
The group is run on shared learning principles with each member contributing to the exploration of the work of artists and their contexts. We agree a topic area to be explored,for example the Art of Russia, and share out artists among the group. At each meeting, a few of us will talk about our choice for about 15 minutes showing examples of appropriate artworks.We limit photocopies to about 4 copies of 4 images for reasons of expense. We then have a discussion about what we have seen and found out. Periodically we also have a session where we present a particular personal favourite artwork or Artist to the group, which is very illuminating and enjoyable.
